Tranwise project management system

Customer: WAPA Translations

Solution: design and development of project management system (PMS) for translation agencies. This system has been designed as SaaS product to assist translation companies in management of full cycle translation process starting with initial client request and ending with issuing the invoice for the services.

PMS included the following capabilities:

  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) – negotiations with leads, customer requests processing, customer history, and customer care;
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) – employees (interpreter) management, recruiting capabilities, reporting, advanced workflow, invoicing, employees payments, integration with CAT tools;
  • PM – project management, assignment management, notifications, deadlines, messaging, scheduling; vacation management.

One of the major aspects of the designed software was the provision of possibilities of the easiest and the most effective interaction and operation with the complicated navigation and workflows processing.

For this solution ExtJS UI framework that provides advanced possibilities in UI building was chosen.

As a result we developed Ajax based and ExtJS structured rich and thin client application that allows rapid data management.

The second critical point of the PMS was complicated and extended workflows. Customer's personnel has definitely separated roles and don’t have complete visibility of business processes and rules of project management.

The right solution for this point was the selection of Agile development methodology and close collaboration with the customer company to perform deep analysis of the existing business processes and transparent transferring them to the designed application.

Technologies: Java, Sping, Hibernate, ExtJS, Blesta, TomCat.

Project workload: 9 months.
